This is the most honest-sounding stuff I’ve heard in years. I think we all know a girl named Laura.

Maybe we all have a longing, too, for something, somewhere as far away as the opposite coast. Summer’s moved into fall…nothing you can do about it now but turn up some old records and watch the daylight fade, but that’s not so bad at all.

So I was going through my old Internet links the other day and dug up this gem. A russian motorcyclers photography with captions of botched yet poetic English. A low tech no frills travel website of the darker regions of Russia.
Don’t breeze through it, give it some time with each section, it will grip and chill your bones. You may wonder where the heck God went.
If you like to study history like I do you may dig it, espically the serpants wall section. However, the two trips through Chernobyl are by far scarier than anything anyone could ever invent. I dare you to go through it whilst listening to Godspeed you black emporer.

I’m reading a book titled God Laughs and Play, churchless sermons in response to the preachments of the fundamentalist right.  I’ve mentioned David James Duncan a couple times on here, if you’re not reading him you’re missing out on a great modern day American author.   The best?  Yes albeit in my limited scope of reading.  Makes me want to write something on here about god, David Bazan, ecology, concerned and loving mothers, honesty… believe it or not they are all related.  It’s coming.

I’m listening to The Redemption Song (thanks Andy) without knowing what those home boys are totally about their music pumps me up to ‘keep the faith….this time we will not falter.’  I’m also listening to Shakira and Wycliffe… does anyone salsa dance out there?  We should all take our sig figs out dancing, romance face!  Shout out to all the TX ladies Pretzel.

I’m watching my daughter’s life flash before my eyes; she is 1 year old tomorrow.  This AM at 1 was the anniversary of wife’s water breaking, pretty nuts ya’ll.  Another one on the way, KID ARMY!

I’m tasting delicious brownies, left over from Taco Night Saturday.  Crockpot shout out.

I’m smelling liquid life, coffee (OG liquid life is just water not coffee, Shout out to H2O!!!!).  I’ve recently began failing to appreciate coffee; this morning I’m trying to enjoy it beyond a stimulant, smells good, taste good, I like the ceremony of brewing it, -pop lids- scoop beans- grind beans- filter water- pour water- fold filter- click lid closed- press brew.  There are more steps to coffee but those are the highlights.
