“Brooklyn’s New Culinary Movement” is my kind of reading. You’ve got the whole cast — the butchers, the bakers, the small-batch pickle, cheese and chocolate makers. Sweets don’t usually do it for me (salty snacks all the way, can I get an amen?) but trading chocolates for beers at the local bar like the Mast brothers? That’s that Brooklyn spirit. So I’m even that much happier to see a shot of my cafe right there with the article.

A side note that gets a mention in the Brooklyn eater’s guide accompanying the article: we roast in the city and supply Sixpoint, a Brooklyn brewery, with our Ethiopian Yirgacheffe for their coffee porter called Gorilla Warfare. So here’s the heads-up — Sixpoint’s whole lineup of craft ales have only ever been available on draft, but plans are finally in place to bottle and distribute (‘Brooklyn Returns to a Heady Time‘)

Colorado boys, we love your New Belgium. You wouldn’t believe the commotion in Iowa City last summer when it finally came into town. A week beforehand, you literally couldn’t hold a conversation without ‘did you hear we’re getting Fat Tire?’ Anyway, keep an eye out for Sixpoint and hopefully you can get a taste of my new home. It’s that good, trust me. Mid-week any week you’ve got a good chance of spotting me at 12th Street, Ryan Adams on the jukebox and me sleepy-eyed and swaying over a pint of Brownstone.

Oh, and what did I tell you about beards? So Brooklyn, it even gets a mention in the article. I’m about ready to glue hair to my face…

Hey guys…

So I’ve been myspacing A TON lately with my new band East By Air to try and promote our album and get some online sales.  It’s wierd.  People aparently still use Myspace??!? I can’t look beyond it’s clutter and adspace to even think about using it over facebook.   Am I the only one here or is it an Iowa thing to hate on Myspace?!

Oh, and does anyone know anyone (or can you) make a myspace look cool? I dont’ wanna spend much money but I do think it’d help… got any ideas? Our looks like a 3rd grader did it.

Anyone want to get some nice American Apparel KTG hoodies going? I’m thinking a really simple design/logo.

Its all water under a bridge now anyway…

As some of you may or may not know, I am rolling the tents, saddling the horses, and making the winter trip through the mountains to Durango Colorado.  

It has been great being in you Denver, but it is time to withdrawl before I get to emotionally attached and commit to a lifetime of one town love.  

Packing these last few weeks to embark on an new adventure after six and a half of the hardest, beautiful, painful, best, challenging, and changing years of my life has not been easy.  You have a stolen a piece of my heart Denver, I don’t expect to get it back, just keep it safe and secure.

Brothers whom I am leaving behind- I love you and will never forget all of the times we have shared.  Yet this is not the end for us; just for me and the cruel mistress Denver.  Treat her good boys, she may do the same for you.  

I will be back time and again but will I ever again succumb to the wily charms of such a fast and uncertain city; I don’t know.  I do know that even our love isn’t the everlasting kind sweet Denver, but you will always be my first love.

I am striving for a more solid rock to stand on, which I hope I have found in Durango.  Please friends pray for me, sometimes I forget to pray for myself.  

Also please come visit me my brothers, I will come visit you in Denver as much as possible. (probably be there once a month so this isn’t really goodbye at all to you, just that temptress Denver).
