Obama Rama pt. 2
October 31, 2008Alright guys, seriously I am sorry for writing so much about Obama but I feel it is very important for everyone to understand all aspects of our soon to be president, I am writing this out of love for me peoples you knowatimsayn? haha
I came across a few other things I think are important to consider about our future president. Obama wants to create a “people’s army”, which if you know from your history books, is not good AT ALL!
“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set,” said Obama on July 2, 2008. “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
Which means putting just as much money into a second army as we do in the one we already have, a few trillion or so bucks. He has stated that he wants it to be 250,000 people strong to begin with, which would consist of volunteers devoted to “America” or “Freedom” led by Obama.
Remember Hitler had the brown shirts, Hitler Youth, SA, and SS. Mao has a people’s army, so did Fidel Castro, as did most any other communist and socialist country in our worlds history. Dolores Umbridge had the Inquisitorial Squad. Now don’t get me wrong the idea of “spreading the wealth around” sounds good, but as history has shown, there has never ever been a successful communist country, not so many socialist countries either.
A people’s army for the purpose of homeland security is a frightening idea in the name of stopping terrorism. I don’t think that having troops actually stationed in our towns and neighborhoods constitutes freedom. Look at the witch hunts http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witch-hunt or more recently the red scare http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_scare. Anyone, for disagreeing with the powers at be, could be dubbed a “witch” or “communist” and could be imprisoned for any number of years or put to death. I hope the new key word when disagreeing with Obama isn’t “Terrorist”.
Don’t take my word for it though, please research this if it concerns you. There are many parallels between what Obama wants to do and the start of a socialist society. Maybe I am just being paranoid or crazy, which I hope this is the case, but I know I am not the only one who thinks this way.
Please vote and vote for who you believe in though.

October 29, 2008STOOR Projekt 2
October 29, 2008I wanted to put up a picture of the boat house but the best I could find was this super tiny one or sad flood pics.

To augment the tiny boathouse pic you also get a picture of our ladle holder incased in Jello (our neighbors have been watching a lot of office lately, ya’ll feel me?) it’s pretty funny.
Part 2
The boathouse is a place where we all spent a little time at growing up. What’s your best boathouse memory?
Mine - Tough to choose but for me its: mewithoutyou when Aaron jumped in the river.

Get back to your roots mother effers! What will follow this week are a couple snapshots images, videos, stories, etc of what I think of when I remember “my roots.” I hope that you enjoy, engage, and envision your own roots.

To get us started a music video from a band that I think we all remember as a staple to the music scene growing up. Their t shirt sparked a friendship, their music inspired a community here’s Norma Jean.
Autumn soundtrack in the city
October 26, 2008

This is what plays lately when I’m out walking city streets late at night. Also, when I’m taking the train from Union Square back to Brooklyn after work.
It’s great how some records just fit the season. The first nip is in the air, and you just know.
It’s fall, and winter will be here soon.
Obama Rama!!!!
October 26, 2008So the way it looks, Obama is probably going to be our next president. I want to know a few reasons why you guys are voting for him (if you are that is). What in your mind makes him the best candidate for president? However I don’t think that reasons like “he would be our first black president”, “he isn’t McCain”, or “change” are good reasons to vote for him. If it is the reason of “change” that you are voting for him, what specific things that will change are you guys pumped on?
Actually vice versa as well, what reasons do you dudes have for voting for McCain or anyone else (if you are)? I am just really curious about what drives my friends political choices. (I am also trying to understand this whole Obama Rama spirit that has pumped up most our nation as well.)
love
