Hey Fellas! I just finished putting together a 4 min video of my motorcycle adventure last summer. Hope you enjoy!

Spirit of the Marathon is the first ever non-fiction
feature film to capture the drama and essence of the famed 26.2 mile
running event. Filmed on four continents, the movie brings together a
diverse cast of amateur athletes and marathon luminaries.
As
six unique stories unfold, each runner prepares for and ultimately
faces the challenge of the Chicago Marathon. More than a sports movie, Spirit of the Marathon
is an inspirational journey of perseverance and personal triumph; a
spectacle that will be embraced by runners and non-runners alike.
Check your locals theaters boys, a special showing of this film is taking place across the nation on Thursday night. I know College Square (for all the CFers on here) is showing it. 7:30 and it’s $10. Also, there’s a pizza party before the movie at Runner’s Flat.
Check out the website here.

So fellas, here are my thoughts on the intro and 1st chapter of Sex God. Let’s do our best to get a discussion going and then we can see about getting a IM conversation.
Introduction. Seems to give a fair idea of what the book is about. You’re probably thinking “duh Alex, that is the goal of an introduction.” Well okay… but I had anticipated the book to be a bit more inline with Every Man’s Battle, Sheet Music, Song of Solomon, anything a bit more obviously sexual. So far the book seems to be more about the pertinent emotions surrounding one’s sensuality and sexuality. Which is fine, just with such a shocker title on a “christian” book I expected a little bit more unashamed sex talk. Which is not to say that Robert won’t go on to talk about some freaky deakyness as I’ve only read through the first couple chapters. What I’m trying to get at is that I enjoyed the introduction as it helped me not go into the book blindly expecting something that isn’t there. So basically for the intro – mission accomplished now I know what the book is about.
Maybe you gleaned something a bit more insightful from it? I’d love to hear about it.
Chapter One. I really enjoyed it, I could definitely pick up on some Irresistible Revolution (for those of you that are familiar with it) coming through. Rob sites sex as an example of how one can rob others of there humanity giving them an experience of hell. I may be taking this from another chapter but I believe the idea of “they becoming us” or something along those lines comes up. This was my favorite part of the book that I’ve read thus far.
I’m not sure if any of you can relate but the concept of biblical love is something that, beyond all reason, escaped me through years of youth group, church camps, mission trips, and sadly a fair portion of three years of christian higher education. It is the dominant message of the New Testament but it never took hold of me. When Christ asks us to love our enemies, give away our coats, go the extra mile with another… well I’ve only recently realized that he was telling the truth. This wasn’t a parable; there is not hidden symbolism in this message, there is no subversive wisdom. We are to view others as god views them, love them as god loves them. I don’t know… this is the message I got out of the first chapter anyway. I think it is a great message and the way that Robert uses sex as a vehicle to deliver this message is great.
Your turn.

truly, I wish it hadn’t been this long since I’ve posted anything. Life has been active and in motion, but here I am. I’m in the middle of applying and interviewing here and there, looking for jobs in this area. I’ve been in prayer about it and trusting the right one(s) are opening up for me. I’m hopeful. …and realistic at the same time. Anna and I are reading through the Bible in a year, and I just wanted to share some in today’s chapters in the book of Saint Matthew that I just got done reading.
18:2-4 “He called a little child and had him stand among them. And He said, “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
I think this is a piece of Scripture that requires deep insight to it’s beautiful simplicity of Truth. May we dig into more and more and realize it’s power.
19:21 “Jesus answered, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then, come, follow me.”
Some of us take that literally and very seriously. Others of us ask how far to take that? Others don’t listen to it all. how about you? what questions do you have regarding this scripture? or any others? However our 21st century minds receive and interpret these words of Jesus, He said what He said….and what did those other bros say, something about where our treasure is, there our heart will be also?
19:30 “But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.”
Those of us living in white, middle class America know pretty well how this society works, what it runs on, what it encourages and what it tries to get us to believe every single day, in every moment of the day. I am only a creature with questions and broken pieces. All I have, whatever I have, I know is a gift from God, the One who gives all Good gifts.
So Jesus Christ came and dwelt among us and taught a different message than what this world teaches.
Peace be with all of you. Hope everyone’s new year has started with and continued in fresh Newness.

If you like checking out up-and-coming browsers, check out Flock. It’s a browser geared towards those of you that actively use social networking tools (blogs, flickr, twitter, YouTube, WordPress, del.icio.us, etc.)
I’m currently giving it a “test-run” and it seems pretty cool so far. However, I haven’t done much comparison on its speed, so that info is up for blogging. If you check it out, post your opinions.
KTG, Today I start a new journey. This journey will be launched within the next two months… please excuse my lack of post for the next month or two, as most of my time, energy and heart will be focused on this new project.
However, I’ll still be here, no worries. Just wanted you to know what I was up to in case you don’t hear from me for a while.
Love you all… more on the what I’m talking about soon…
