Well we are getting older and moving on…. some have wives, some are about to have one, and others… well we’ll see.
I kind of just wanted to make this post because I want to stay in touch and I figure through this post we can update each other with what we are up to and what plans are coming soon.
Personally – I am a senior now at Iowa State University about to graduate this May in Computer Engineering.
Lately I have just been working and playing intramurals -> Hockey, Broomball, Volleyball, and softball.
I currently live in a room so small that it feels like a closet… for those of you who have been to my appartment… well I lost the big room over the summer to my roommate. After graduating I am going to move to St. Paul, MN. My lease starts up there on June 1st, but I won’t actually be living there until June 24th. I will be working for a company called Thomson as a software developer. Thomson is located in Eagan, MN which is just south of St. Paul. When I get my new address and have settled in I will let you guys know, mi cassa su cassa… is that right? I didn’t do so well in Spanish… Bryan and Tim can vouch for that
Where you guys at and what the heck have you been up too?
Well all, as you all know – I’m engaged to Miss Ashley Anne Dietz. She is a junior at Wartburg. I just accepted an offer from ME&V, an advertising agency in Cedar Falls. My title is Writer. I start June 1st and I’ll be doing lots of press release writing and updated clients webpages content, so lots of web-based writing. I’m stoked and am truly happy to be in CF for the year, so I’m close to Ashley. Other than that, in May I’m running the Green Bay marathon and am hoping to qualify for Boston – but I’ll have to let you all know on that one. I’m trying to focus more and more on photography… I have my first “professional” gig in a couple of weeks for a wedding… should be fun and should be a great learning experience. And lastly, yes, I’ll probably be living at home next year, saving a grip of money!
So, that means we can def. all have 319 sleepovers with Triple D. Blake, Mike (bro) and I are taking a tight trip to Colorado in June… can’t wait. That’s it for now!
Great thread Blake… and remember, keep this going!

girls… I wish I knew. Most of you know me well enough to not ask because there’s never anything going on, but currently there is someone very special in my life named Erin and we continue to talk about what “us” is. Part of me thinks something great, and part me is so flippin confused. My next step is something that is on my heart a lot. The whole “job” thing is not unappealing to me, just not where I feel led right now. I’ve been looking lots into different mission organizations to see the opportunity to perhaps leave for 1,2,3 or more years. I don’t know if it would be a mission organization or more secular development type stuff… i’m open to both and discerning both. I’m going to Alaska this summer (June 14th) to work for youthworks again. This means I’ll be working with three other people to set up service trips for church groups that come in from all over the U.S. for a week long trip of service and Christian worship. My role is to partner with the organizations we serve, learn about them, foster relationships with, and maintain a good morale between our groups serving and the people we serve/learn from. I’ll return in mid-august and potentiall leave the country by september if all falls into place. I will not go with any organization if they will not allow me to return for 6/7/8 – a special date I’ve promised to attend. So I’ll for sure see most of you there.
I know I haven’t been around my bros as much as I’d like to in the past but a friend I respect very much told me once that he’s learned that he truly appreciates and misses people, situations, feelings… when they are sparce. I think this is true for me as well. Not the whole “absence makes the heart grow fonder thing,” but being away has made me realize how blessed I’ve been. I’ve never met any other people who stay in touch with friends from before college (or since elementary for some), and who continue to grow together, laugh about the past, and contemplate stupidity in the present.
